A DRIVER involved in a two-vehicle crash in Darlington last night may have suffered a medical episode, police said.
It happened on Yarm Road at around 6.10pm and involved a Range Rover and Renault Traffic van.
It is believed the driver of the Range Rover, a 49-year-old man, had suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, in a critical condition.
The driver of the Renault, a 23-year-old man, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
The road was closed from 6.15pm until around 10pm to allow for recovery of the vehicles.
