Darlington Football Club’s mascot has come face to face with the schoolgirl who dreamed him up.
The Quakers have unveiled their new mascot, Feethams, who is named after the club’s old ground.
He was designed by 12-year-old Ella Springett, a pupil at Longfield School, in Darlington.
Feethams is a panda, echoing the club’s black and white colours. He made his first public appearance on Monday at Ella’s school.
The mascot, which was brought to life by illustrator Morgan O’Brien, was voted for by Darlington supporters.
He will make his match debut on Saturday at home to Southport. He gave away 30 tickets to pupils at Longfield for the match at The Northern Echo Arena.
Feethams takes over from Darlo Dog, who retired at the end of last season.
