A CANDIDATE in the forthcoming General Election has died suddenly, leading to a voting postponement in that constituency.
John Boakes, the United Kingdom Independence Party (Ukip) candidate for the Thirsk and Malton seat, in North Yorkshire, has died. The cause of death is not yet known.
The election in that seat has been postponed from May 6 to May 27.
