AN MP has visited a new hospital in her constituency.
Durham MP Roberta Blackman-Woods visited the Lanchester Road Hospital, a new £17.9m mental health facility on the outskirts of the city which opened earlier this year.
Afterwards, Dr Blackman-Woods said: "This new hospital will provide much-needed mental health services to many people around the county.
"The hospital contains really modern facilities in a wonderful setting and it also houses bases for a number of community services relating to mental health support.
"The new hospital has been very much welcomed by all the staff and service users I spoke to.
"It will be officially opened later in the year and I will be continuing to work to try and get proper bus services across the whole of the site for staff and users alike.
"I am very pleased that we managed to get this new facility into Durham."
