A car on fire on a key North East route has been causing some delays for drivers this morning.
Emergency services are dealing with the blaze on the A179 approaching the A19 near Hartlepool.
A picture shared on social media shows a white car well alight.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "A vehicle fire involving a BMW 3 series was reported at 11.33am on the A179 heading out of Hartlepool.
"There are no injuries reported."
Cleveland Fire Brigade said the fire was dealt with by a crew from Hartlepool.
A spokesperson said: "Cleveland Fire Brigade were called at 11.26am to an incident on the A179, Sheraton.
"One car was well alight. One fire engine was in attendance from Hartlepool.
"Crews extinguished the fire and one breathing apparatus was used."
"There was 50 per cent fire damage to car and 100 per cent heat and smoke damage."
