A person has been taken to hospital after a medical incident in Durham city centre.
Police and paramedics were called to Durham Market Place on Tuesday morning after reports of an incident at an unknown address.
Pictures circulating online show how emergency services flooded the square, with two ambulance vehicles seen parked outside the WHSmith and Post Office stores.
The North East Ambulance Service has now confirmed that one person has been taken to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment.

A spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.38am this morning (Tuesday 2 July) to reports of a medical incident at an address in Durham Market Place.
"We dispatched an ambulance crew, a community first responder, a rapid response paramedic, a clinical team leader, and a specialist paramedic to the scene.
"One patient was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment."
