A County Durham steakhouse is hosting a competition which would see the winners bag a three-night trip to the Italian coast and a stay at a luxury hotel.

The competition, taking place at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill on Old Elvet in Durham, will give guests the opportunity to win a trip to the Amalfi Coast.

In conjunction with Malfy Gin, the prize offers the winners return flights for the Naples trip, private transfer to the hotel, a full-day boat tour to Capri, and a two-hour private sightseeing tour of the Amalfi Coast to Ravello.

Winners will also be given a three-course dinner and £500 to spend, with travel insurance included.

Tom Orange, general manager at the venue said: “This is an absolutely amazing prize. All guests have to do is pop along to enjoy a meal or drink where they will be able to enter.

“It’s very rare to be in with the chance to win such an amazing prize so it’s well worth putting your name into the hat. And while they’re at it, those who enter can maybe enjoy a meal from our brand-new spring menu!

“The Amalfi coast is renowned for its fresh produce, amazing food and stunning scenery and you can just imagine sipping a cool Malfy gin and tonic while looking out across the Mediterranean as the sun sets in the West.

“And if they’ve got any time left, the winner could also take in the mighty Vesuvius volcano or even take a trip to the historic Pompei to see the ancient ruins.
