A man has died following a medical incident in a North East village yesterday.
Northumbria Police have confirmed police attended The Green in Elwick Village, Hartlepool at 4pm yesterday (March 26) after an elderly man was found to be unwell.
They confirmed the man sadly passed away following a medical episode.
They said their thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “There was a police presence in Elwick Village in Hartlepool from around 4pm yesterday, Tuesday 27 March, after an elderly man was found to be unwell.
“Sadly, the man passed away following a medical episode. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family friends at this difficult time.”
A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson confirmed they deployed two double crewed ambulances and a specialist paramedic.
A NEAS spokesperson said: “We were called to an person unwell on The Green, Elwick just after 4.15 yesterday (Tuesday 26 March) and we dispatched two double crewed ambulances and a specialist paramedic.”
