A school which was placed under lockdown yesterday after "threats" were made about pupils will be open again today.
Armed police put St Hild's CoE School in Hartlepool into a partial lockdown at the end of the school day and pupils were kept in classrooms.
Police emphasised that they were "precautionary measures" due to "threats" that had been made about pupils.
Yesterday evening a 16-year-old boy was arrested at his home in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
Armed officers were pictured guarding the school gates as pupils were escorted off the site year group by year group after the lockdown lifted shortly after 5pm.
Huge crowds of concerned parents were gathered on pavements outside the school.
Today the school will be open as usual.
