Police have confirmed that a 19-year-old driver has died after the car he was driving was involved in a crash in County Durham on Wednesday (November 22)
The incident happened at 5.40pm (November 22) along Hedleyhill Lane, Cornsay Colliery, and involved a red Vauxhall Astra and a brown Mitsubishi ASX.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra – a 19-year-old man – was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers from Durham Police have now launched their investigation and are asking for any witnesses, especially those who might have dashcam footage, to come forward.
