A man was pronounced dead after an air ambulance landed in Newton Aycliffe this morning this morning (Wednesday, November 22).
Police and ambulance were called to the scene at the Aycliffe Business Park at 9.44am after a man suffered a medical episode.
The Great North Air Ambulance also landed at the scene, with a doctor and paramedic and doctor on board, but the man was sadly pronounced dead.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called shortly after 9.30am this morning to Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe after a man suffered a medical episode.
"Police and ambulance attended but sadly the man in his 60s was pronounced dead."
A Great North Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "Our critical care team was activated at 9.35am to reports of a medical incident in Aycliffe Business Park.

"We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 9.44am."
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 9.18am this morning (Wednesday 22 November) to reports of a medical incident at Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe.
"We dispatched an ambulance crew, a clinical team leader, a rapid response paramedic, and requested the support of our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) who attended via air."
