Motorists are being warned to expect disruption as a key route in a North East town is to close for roadworks next week.
The Borough Road overbridge which connects the town centre to North Ormesby, the Riverside Stadium and the A66 will be closed eastbound – towards Redcar – for six days, starting on Monday (August 21).
Middlesbrough Council says the closure is needed to carry out waterproofing repairs, replace the bridge’s joints and resurface the road.

A stretch of the route between North Ormesby Road and Marton Road will also be closed in both directions overnight for five nights from Monday.
Diversion routes will be in place.
Once the work has been completed closures will shift to the westbound carriageway – towards the town centre – on Sunday, August 27 with the route also closing for six days.
A Middlesbrough Council spokesperson said: “Diversions will be in place and drivers are advised to use the A66 as an alternative route in and out of Middlesbrough.”
