A new restaurant has opened its doors on the seafront at Hartlepool Marina.
Anticipation had been building ever since their announcement on Facebook that they would be setting up in the area.
The establishment has opened at 16-18 Navigation Point, next door to The Ugly Duckling pub and Spices Indian Takeaway.
On the business' Facebook page they describe themselves as a 'welcoming family licensed Italian Bar and Restaurant offering hot and cold food'.
An expansive menu and cocktail list displays the variety of Italian food which will be available including pizza, pasta and seafood platters.
All the food is made resh on the day including the bread and pizza dough.
Jack I'anson, manager of the restaurant, has been overwhelmed by the positive feedback so far.
He said: "The feedback we have been receiving has been really good.
"People are really enjoying the food and that has been amazing.
"All of our food is cooked fresh, the pizza dough and the bread is baked first thing in the morning.
"We have had some particularly glowing feedback about the sea bass we have been serving.
"We are starting to do weekly specials now so there is always something new to try."
The tempting menu has caused excitement on social media with commenters raving about the selection.
One Facebook user, John Taylor, said: "Incredible food!
"Pollo a la Pepe, not had one like it since I lived in Milan!"
Another, Sue Stod, said: "Oo yes please! Menu sounds delicious."
Craig Davey added: "We've been looking through the windows and are so looking forward to an Italian restaurant on the marina."
