Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who threw roof tiles from them in a domestic disturbance that lasted six hours in Middlesbrough last night (June 14).
Emergency services were called to the scene on Borough Road in Middlesbrough at around 6:30pm last night to attend a man who had climbed onto the roof of one of the properties on the road.
Police then deployed a police negotiator in the six hour stand off until the man eventually came down where he was then arrested on suspicion of harassment and breach of a restraining order.

Nearby resident, Michael Govan, witnessed the incident as he saw the road closed as emergency services attend the scene.
He said: “I saw multiple police cars, a fire truck, and a tonne of people gathering meanwhile the police taped off the area so no cars could get through.
“It’s quite a surreal thing to happen. I hope the man is able to get the help he needs. It was quite unnerving at the time.”
