A teenager has been arrested following an incident yesterday that saw a 42-year-old man stabbed.
An altercation on Redcar Beach yesterday evening (Wednesday, June 14) saw a 42-year-old man suffer stab wounds to his torso.
Though the wounds were minor and did not require treatment in the hospital, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has since been bailed as enquiries continue.
At 8.20 pm last night, officers from Cleveland Police received reports of an altercation between two groups - one group of two teenagers and one group of three adults - on Redcar Beach close to the vertical pier.

A spokesperson for the force said: "When police arrived a 42-year-old man had suffered a minor stab wound to his stomach, which did not require hospital treatment.
"A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he has been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
"Any witnesses are asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 115341.
