A popular doughnut shop will be giving away 100 of the tasty treats to customers to mark the launch of their new North East store this weekend.
Harry’s Handcrafted Doughnuts is giving away 100 free doughnuts to celebrate the opening of their new store on Derwent Street in Middlesbrough on Saturday (April 8).
The chain will officially open its new location at 11am where the first 100 customers will be treated to a free doughnut.
Meanwhile, co-owner of Harry's, Jack Beadle, said he and his business partner, Richard Bridge, could not wait to show Middlesbrough residents "what they've been missing."

He said: “Hatchet Harry’s is now well established in Middlesbrough and we felt the time was now right to get our doughnut venture up and running next door.
“We pride ourselves on serving the tastiest doughnuts on the high street. Despite our rapid growth, we’ve always ensured that we retain the hand-crafted look, feel and taste that you simply don’t get with most mass-produced doughnuts.
“We feel that it gives us the edge in this growing but competitive market and helps to explain why our products are so popular.
“We cannot wait to show the people of Middlesbrough what they’ve been missing – and hope that our free giveaway on Saturday will make our opening a memorable event.”

The pair also own the neighbouring urban axe-throwing business, Hatchet Harry’s, which opened in May last year.
He said the two bought two vacant units in Derwent Street prior to opening Hatchet Harry’s last May, with the intention of opening a doughnut store in the second unit
Meanwhile, this venture brings Harry's total number of doughnut stores up to five, with other locations already open in Darlington, Newcastle, Gosforth and Ipswich.
Similar giveaways at opening events at Harry’s Handcrafted Doughnuts locations have seen stores run out of stock within hours.

In terms of popular flavours, Mr Beadle said their Biscoff doughnut, Kinder Bueno doughnut, proved favourites among customers.
He said Middlesbrough was chosen as a location partly due to the much-anticipated multi-million-pound regeneration of Captain Cook Square, which made the proposition more attractive from a business standpoint.
The new store, which has generated three jobs, will initially open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays each week, between 11am and 5pm.
