AN 'unexplained death' on the grounds of a Hartlepool rugby club yesterday is not being treated as suspicious following formal identification of the body and a post mortem.
A man has now been formally identified after a body was found in the grounds of Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Football Club around 10.40am on Sunday morning, September 6.
The man is aged 29 and from the local area. A post mortem examination has been carried out and the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family.
Yesterday, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a report of a man’s body found at around 10.40am this morning, Sunday September 6, in the grounds of Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Football Club.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem exA file will be prepared for the Coroner.amination will be carried out to try to establish the cause of the man’s death.
"Officers believe that they know the identity of the man and his family have been informed, although formal identification is yet to take place.
"Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family and thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time."
