AN investigation has been launched after a man's body was found today on the grounds of Hartlepool Rugby Club.
Cleveland Police were called to Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Football Club at about 10.40am today, Sunday September 6, after a man's body was found in the grounds of the club.
While the man's identity is believed to be known to officers and his family have been informed, no formal identification has taken place.

The death is currently unexplained, but an investigation has been launched.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a report of a man’s body found at around 10.40am this morning, Sunday September 6, in the grounds of Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Football Club.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will be carried out to try to establish the cause of the man’s death.
"Officers believe that they know the identity of the man and his family have been informed, although formal identification is yet to take place.
"Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family and thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time."
Anyone who may have been in the area of the Rugby Club in the early hours of this morning and may have seen a male in the area should contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 145762.
