Swan rescued after causing chaos on the A66
A POLICE van had a different species of occupant last night after a swan causing chaos on the A66 was captured.
The swan had made its way on to the busy road and had been causing problems for motorists swerving to avoid it.
Cleveland and Durham's Roads Policing Unit shared a picture on social media of an officer with a swan in the police van after it was caught on the A66 following reports from the public.
The post said: "This swan was causing some chaos on the A66 but PC Wilson clearly had something up his sleeves.
"We managed to capture the animal and release it somewhere a little safer."
