MIDDLESBROUGH’S first large-scale reggae festival will be staged in 2019.
In May next year, a host of bands and DJs will take over The Hub at Teesside University, where reggae fans can enjoy a day of live music and themed cuisine.
The Marley Experience, dubbed “the ultimate Bob Marley tribute”, will join The Piragons, Ultimate 40 and the John Holt Tribute Band at the event organised by Special Brew Promotions.
Ultimate 40 will pay homage to UB40 and boasts musicians that have played alongside singer Ali Campbell in its line-up while the John Holt Tribute Band has been praised as “one of the most sought after acts on the UK and European festival circuit”.
Live performances will be complemented by a number of reggae DJs expected to spin an eclectic mix of tracks. Gig-goers can also enjoy reggae inspired food at the event, taking place on Saturday, May 4.
- Tickets – costing £17.50 in advance, £20 on the door or £25 for a VIP package – can be booked at skiddle.com
- The event’s website, at middlesbroughreggaefestival.co.uk, will launch soon
