A TEENAGER is critically ill in hospital after taking what is thought to be LSD.
The 17-year-old, from Prudhoe in Northumberland, fell ill on Monday and was taken to hospital.
He was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where police described his condition as critical but stable.
Insp Pam Bridges, of Northumbria Police, said: “We’re carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what has happened and to locate the source of this batch of LSD.
“We want to remind and warn people of the dangers of taking illegal drugs.”
