FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze at a barn in Trimdon Village this morning.
Four appliances attended the incident at Horse Close Lane, just after 7.30am.
A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the barn was used to store hay and no animals or people were injured.
The fire follows another barn fire at Toft Hill, near Bishop Auckland, on Friday night where a horse perished.
"Thankfully the barn was empty and only contained hay," the spokesman said. "We sent two appliances from Peterlee and then two more, one from Durham and one from Spennymoor."
The fire was put out just after 10am.
