AN American diner based in the region has insured Britain’s champion challenge eater’s stomach for £1m.

Adam Moran, also known as Beard Meats Food, of Leeds, has given up his career in banking to become Huckleberry restaurant’s CEO – Chief Eating Officer.

Huckleberry’s has diners in Darlington and York and Mr Moran holds various eating accolades including Yorkshire Pudding Eating World Champion and Big Mac Eating British Record Holder.

Mr Moran said: “This is literally the dream job for anyone interested in food. A big chunk of my job description is to basically eat for a living and test out all the new challenge dishes as well as take on potential challengers in head to head contests. It's a meaty role and I can't wait to get stuck in.

“It’s a massive departure from what I was doing previously working in the stockbroking division at Lloyds Bank but Huckleberry’s is a great restaurant and I’m confident I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew."

Adam is great with the public and as infamous food vlogger Beard Meats Food has a cult following, we can’t wait for customers who have the stomach to take him on in a Man vs Food challenge to step up to the plate.”
