CHILDREN at a Richmondshire primary school have benefitted from the enthusiasm of quiz teams at the Black Bull, Moulton.
Pub quizzes are held on alternate Tuesday evenings at the pub and restaurant and entry fees donated by the Black Bull have enabled The Federation of Eppleby Forcett and Middleton Tyas Church of England Primary Schools to buy 26 iPads.
The children in Judd’s Jaguars are taking part in their teacher Tom Judd’s masters project, which is looking at the effectiveness of iPads for learning.
The entry fees are now contributing to installing a digital projector in the school hall. This will be used for the daily collective worship and in school performances.
The executive headteacher Maxine Price said: “We are extremely grateful to the Black Bull and those taking part in the quizzes.
“The children have already seen learning benefits from the iPads and are looking forward to taking part in even more innovative productions and collective worships.”
James Trueman, manager of the Black Bull Inn added: “We are delighted to be able to support our local primary school where children from Moulton are pupils, and take great pride in being able to be part of and support the local community.”
The next pub quiz will be on Tuesday (April 12) at 7.30pm.
