A CHRUCH has received a £200 donation for its foodbank from a group of local churches.
The Influence Church, in Victoria Road, runs a foodbank called StoreHouse for Richmondshire residents struggling with their food bills.
The donation is from certain collection held in 2015 at Aldbrough St John, Caldwell, Carlton, East Layton, Eppleby, Forcett, Melsonby and Stanwick churches.
StoreHouse needs around £4,000 to run each year, which includes costs for one staff member to oversee the running and administration; re-stocking of food; an annual Christmas hamper project; repairs and maintenance; and an annual fee to run a Christians Against Poverty Job Club.
Paige Rutherford, StoreHouse co-ordinator, said: “StoreHouse runs on the generosity of the people within our communities who donate to us with both food and finances.
“We are so grateful to those who are able to find the means to help us, and by helping us, help those in their communities who are struggling.
“We want to thank the Stanwick Group of Churches, as well as others who has recently donated, for their kindness and generosity.”
StoreHouse is open at Influence Church on Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm, and in Barnard Castle, at our church base on Galgate on Fridays from 3pm to 5pm.
