A FORMER lawyer has had his first book published – a fantasy novel.
Marc Turner describes his book When the Heavens Fall as a cross between Lord of the Rings and the zombie hit World War Z.
The 40-year-old, from High Shincliffe, near Durham will have the second and third books in the series published next year and hopes more will follow.
On achieving his first publication, he said: “It’s brilliant. The first day it came out we were down at Waterstones taking photos of it next to all the other books.”
The plot description reads: a power-hungry necromancer has stolen The Book of Lost Souls and intends to use it to resurrect an ancient race and challenge Shroud for dominion over the underworld... Shroud counters by sending his most formidable servants to seize the artefact at all cost. However, the god is not the only one interested in the Book and a host of other forces converge, drawn by the powerful magic that has been unleashed.
When the Heavens Fall (The Chronicles of Exile #1) is available now in Kindle priced £4 and paperback priced £7.59.
