A MAN has fallen to his death at a much-loved beauty spot in North Yorkshire.
The 72-year-old was seen to fall at Malham Cove at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 5.
The dead man, from Osset in West Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene but his identity has still to be released.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.
However, police enquiries are being carried out on behalf of the coroner to investigate the circumstances leading up to the tragedy,
The man was wearing black walking trousers, lumberjack checked shirt, black sleeveless jacket, black North Face walking shoes and carrying a blue rucksack.
Detective Sergeant Steve Menzies said: “Although I do not believe there are suspicious circumstances surrounding this death, I urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen someone matching the description of the man who died to get in touch with the police as soon as possible, so that I can establish his movements prior to the incident.”
