A REVAMPED post office delivery centre has opened in Darlington.
Improvements to the delivery office in St Cuthberts Way, Darlington, include a modern, open-plan layout and upgraded facilities for its 177 employees.
General building maintenance and repairs have also been carried out, including work on lighting systems.
The Post Office said the work was part of its extensive investment programme to help staff serve customers more quickly and efficiently.
During the improvement works, customers used a temporary enquiry office nearby.
Delivery office manager Laura Mitchell said: “We are delighted with our new-look office, which will help us to continue to provide a consistent and high quality service to our customers in Darlington.
“We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding whilst we made these improvements.”
A Post Office spokesman said: “No other delivery company has mail collection points so close to the communities they serve.
“These offices also offer Royal Mail the opportunity to keep customers updated on new products and services as well as useful tips and posting advice.”
