A BRITISH team taking part in the World Naked Sledding Championships was knocked out of the competition by Germany at the weekend.
Holly Garshong, 29, from Barnes, Sunderland, and Thomas Chrusciel, 21, from Eastborne, Sussex, hit the slopes in Braunlage, Germany, on Saturday.
A total of 44 participants, 18 women and 26 men, took part in the fifth annual Naked Sledding World Championship, sledding down the 50m long artificial snow slope in just pants, boots and a helmet in front of a crowd of almost 8,000 naked sledding fans.
But the British pair were knocked out of the chillisauce.co.uk competition by the home nation.
Miss Garshong, a firefighter, said: “It’s been an unforgettable experience and I’m so thankful to all those who voted for me to represent my country.
“It won’t be my last involvement in Naked Sledding and I’m already looking forward to helping recruit the next British team.
“I’ve met some real characters and made some great friends along the way, and the organisation of the Great British Team by the guys at Chillisauce was absolutely awesome.”
