X-FACTOR finalist Abi Alton will sing at a fundraising gig in memory of a teenage singer-songwriter who died of cancer.
Miss Alton, of Guisborough, will perform and meet fans at the fundraising event on January 24 in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The event, Memory of Gee, is a memorial for Marske schoolgirl Georgina Anderson, 15, who died in November after battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, just four months after diagnosis.
Singer-songwriter Georgina released a fundraising single , Two Thirds of a Piece, in the last weeks of her life and earned a place in the top 75 singles chart. The proceeds from the downloads of the single went to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research UK.
The event is Miss Alton’s only local appearance before she goes on the 31-date X Factor Live tour, which starts in Belfast on February 21 and comes to the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on February 25 The charity concert takes place at the Roseworth Social Club, Stockton, on Friday, January 24 from £6.30pm. Also performing are local musicians Boo Music, Thornaby teenage singer Beth Coates, and other acts.
