THE body of a man has been recovered from the River Ouse in York.
Police were called to the river near Millennium Bridge at 3.15pm this afternoon after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the water.
A North Yorkshire Police statement said: "Officers attended the scene and with assistance from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, the body of a man was recovered from the river.
"It is too early to confirm the identify of the deceased or give any further information. An update will be provided when we are able."
