It is set to be a misty and overcast day across the county today as the Met Office predicts lingering clouds set to stick around most of the day.

Temperatures may remain mild but the sun is no longer out across Darlington and County Durham as murky weather rolls in.

Today, temperatures will reach a high of 17C but persistent cloud means there's only a small window of sunshine between 4pm and 7pm.

The sun is due to set at 9:09pm as soft breezes of up to 7mph stick around until the evening.

There is only a slight chance of rai which would likely hit from 8am.

Tomorrow, these clouds will linger according to forecasters as they warn of "extensive fog patches" along the coast and some rain.
